Luca is a Oxford Martin School Fellow and a group leader of the Pandemic Sciences Institute, part of the Nuffield Department of Medicine of the University of Oxford.

The group's research focuses on infectious disease epidemiology, precision epidemiology, and molecular epidemiology.
We also develop mathematical and statistical models and analyses with wider applications to genomics, evolution, sociology and complex systems.
Our group is based at the Big Data Institute.
We work in close collaboration with several other groups at PSI, especially with
the Fraser,
Lythgoe,
Panovska-Griffiths and
Hay groups.
